Most famous, or infamous, for having been the isolated prison of former South African President Nelson Mandela, and many other black political dissidents. The Island is a World Heritage site and home to African Penguins and a rich variety of marine bird life, some species of which are only found here and one other site on the African coast. Daily tours, with former political prisoners acting as your guides.


Table Mountain is a sandstone plateau rising up above the Cape Flats. The top is approx. 3km wide, & at its highest point, Maclears Beacon, rises to 1085m. The steep cliffs & rocky outcrops play home to a number of plants and animal, there being approx.1470 species of plants. Complimenting this vast array of fynbos, the panoramic 360-degree views from the summit are nothing less than spectacular - deservedly world famous! Visitors can treat themselves to a trip up the mountain in the cable car, and enjoy refreshments at the top.


Situated between Robben Island & Table Mountain in the heart of Cape Town's working Harbour, the V&A Waterfront has become South Africa's most visited destination. Set against a backdrop of sea & mountain views, exciting shopping & entertainment venues are intermingled with imaginative office lacations, world class hotels & luxury apartments in the residential marina. The Aquarium is also situated in the Waterfront.


Situated in the 7750 hectare Cape Point National Park , at the most SouthWesterly point of Africa, this breathtaking scenic outlook is a birdwatchers paradise, with at least 250 species of birds. There are also approx 1100 species of indigenous fynbos, some of which occur nowhere else in the world. At 249m above sea level, Cape Point is one of the highest sea cliffs in the world, offering numerous scenic walks & trails as well as excellent diving & angling spots. Overlooking the point where the cold Benguella current on the West Coast & the Warm Agulhas current on the East Coast seem to merge, you are invited to breathe the freshest air in the world and marvel at Creation! On the way there or back visit the Penguin colony at Boulders beach for an up-close encounter with the African Penguin.


Plan a trip to the winelands of the Cape, take in the spectacular scenery, enjoy wine tastings and cellar tours, have a picnic. Visit the Cheetah Outreach Project and Eagle Encounters at Spier Wine Estate and enjoy an interactive experience with the cheetahs and eagles/falcons/owls/.


Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape Flora, including the unique Fynbos it displays and the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. As well as tours of the gardens, this magical Eden has a visitors centre which includes an information desk, gift shop, Botanical Society Bookshop as well as coffee shop. Sunset concerts, weather permitting.


The Castle is the oldest surviving building in South Africa. Built between 1666 - 1679, this pentagonal fortification replaced a small clay & timber fort built by Commander Jan van Riebeeck in 1652 upon establishing a maritime replenishment station at the Cape of Good Hope for the Dutch East India Company, better known as the VOC. As a result of an extensive, ongoing restoration and conservation program, it remains the best preserved of its kind. The Castle houses the Famous William Fehr collection of historic artworks, the Castle Military Museum, and ceremonial facilities for traditional Cape Regiments.

Tour the Garden Route for a couple of days taking in the diversity of majestic mountains, vast plains, forests, lagoons and lakes - and a playground coast washed by a warm sea.

Visit the World of Birds nature park  in Hout Bay, the largest private Bird Park in Africa, with over 3000 birds in natural surroundings.
